Work is back underway today! They cut the cement last night and are busting it up and carrying it out today. This is where the back classrooms will be. Because of the 2 stories they will have to pour in a new footer.

Here's the dumpster full of chunks of concrete from the Kidzone floor.

Nothing new to report. . .

Plans. . .they are a changin'. I'm learning that you have to stay flexible with construction. It never turns out just like you thought time wise. They ended up not working on the cement Wed night. I think they decided it was too late a start to begin after everyone had left from Bible Study. They also have not been here today, so I'm thinking they are doing that cement work tonight after everyone has gone. So. . .no new pictures to post. I didn't have anyone Emailing to see why I hadn't posted today. I want to keep you checking back, but I've got to have something new to show ya. Hopefully in the morning.

All is calm. . .

For the past 2 days, it's been pretty noisy around the church, but this morning is strangely quiet. The crew stayed home today. They are coming in after Bible Study tonight to cut the concrete. They'll then work through the night. So, things are pretty well put away for people to be here tonight for church. It's your chance to look and see the progress. I'd be glad to give you a tour if you came to check it out today or tonight.

Preparing the stage to be taken apart.

This is the stage in the middle of demolition. It looked like they were enjoying using their sledge hammers and pry bars.

This is the baptistry with the stage removed

This was the stage after it was removed from in front of the baptistry

They took out the door frame into the preschool office and drywalled it up.

This is from the Kidzone looking toward the overflow area. Our storage rooms are framed in!

They've started to demo the baptistry

The carpet is just about gone in the kidzone area!

We have reached the end of Day #1 of work. This is a picture from the overflow area looking back toward the old worship office and janitor's closet.

This is a shot from the old janitor's closet looking down the new hallway, which was the old overflow area.

This is a shot from the overflow area looking back toward the janitor's closet. They opened up the wall between the janitor's closet and the worship office. The door you see is the janitor's door. The empty door frame to the right is where the door entering the worship office was.

This is a temporary wall they built in front of the entrance into the Kidzone before they took the door frame out. They are trying to keep the dust enclosed and keep the traffic flow down through the work zone.

This is a picture of the back of the kidzone, after they removed the organ pipes and took out the carpet in the back

I wanted to post some pictures to show you some of the progress of our Kidzone. These are pretty dark. I will try to get closer pictures from here on out. This is a shot before they got started.
