Busy Day

Gretchen and I were gone for a couple of days, but came back in this morning to a lot going on in the Kidzone. The drywall crew was here putting the finishing touches on that phase. The paint crew was here taping and getting ready to paint. The heating and air people were here finishing up the duct work and the lighting guy was here to give a plan for the lights in the Kidzone area. Whew. . .I'll try to keep you updated with pictures today.

Other than a few small spots, they finished hanging the drywall yesterday. Another crew came in last night to tape and mud. They are still on track to paint next week.

This is a shot from one of the downstairs classrooms looking back toward the door. The window will actually be an aquarium built into the wall.

They had a good start on the drywall today. They got alot of the upstairs hung and the outside of the side classrooms and the pantry area. They also ran the water line from the FLC kitchen to the baptistry.

This is the pantry area after they hung drywall.

The dry wall phase has begun. They finished hanging in one of the upstairs classrooms this morning.

The kids worked on a wall on Sunday morning to say "Thanks" to the workers. Those that wanted to put their handprint on the wall and signed it.

Do you see your hand print? I found mine

They spent the day today finishing the baptistry and prepping the walls for dry wall on Monday. All the insullation was put in.

There have probably been more workers here today than any other since we've started, but probably the least to show you. They have been working on electrical and plumbing and preparing the walls for drywall on Monday and cleaning up. they did build the frame for the baptistry dressing room.

This is the hole they cut in the Jr High room wall to have access to the electrical and plumbing for the baptistry.

This is the hole in the Family Life Center stage the baptistry will set in. They are under a deadline. We have a baptism in each service Sunday.

This is where the baptistry used to sit. The room grows with that whole corner opened up.

Not much to show you at the end of Day #9. They worked the biggest part of the day on electrical. They got all the wire run for the new outlets and lights and rewired several switches for the hallway and classrooms.

All the wiring for lights and outlets is in place

The second floor is going up. I see the fans and lights were taken out in the back, so i don't have to worry about taking my head off.

Someone had a great idea last night. The idea was to write Scripture references on studs throughout the area. It would symbolize the significance of God's word as the foundation of not only the building, but our lives as well. I want to encourage you, especially if you're a parent to pick a verse that has to do with children or teaching or spiritual growth and either pass it on to me and I'll put it on a stud or take a minute within the next week to stop by the kidzone, write it on a stud and pray over the project that God's word would be central in everything we do. They will be drywalling the end of next week and cover all the verses up, but they'll be a part of the very structure we will meet in.

This is a picture across the floor of the upstairs rooms. The fans were on and I was backing up to take this and about got my scalp chopped.

This is a group of people that had gathered to pray for the kidzone area during the national day of prayer service. I'm up on the 2nd floor

The end of Day #7. They worked pretty much all day on the ceiling of floor #1 and the floor of floor #2. I'm not sure if they'll do stairs tomorrow or put up walls upstairs.

Not alot happening today. The concrete had to dry. The electrical people were here to wire the 2 side classrooms. They will begin framing the back classrooms tomorrow. You are going to be amazed how far they along on Sunday after 3 days of work!

More work on the concrete. They'll start framing the back classrooms tomorrow.

The first hour of our day was spent with a jack hammer finishing up removing the floor. They then put in the rods you see here.

Pouring new concrete for the footers for the new walls.
